Point/Counterpoint: 'Rick Santorum, You Ignorant Slut!'

Someone using the nick BobCaseyforSenate posted this video on YouTube. Bob Casey is Rick Santorum's opponent in his re-election bid. Whether or not the user is Casey's campaign or a supporter acting on their own, I don't know.

In June, Santorum and Michigan Rep. Pete Hoekstra claimed that we had found WMD in Iraq. Of course, it wasn't true and the claim was shot down by a Dept. of Defense spokesperson almost as soon as the pair made it. But that hasn't stopped Santorum from pretending that the discovery of WMD has justified the war he still supports.

Here's a Point/Counterpoint featuring PA Senator Rick Santorum and President George W. Bush (my transcript follows the video):

SANTORUM: Having a major military power, like Iraq did, which had chemical weapons -- which, which we have now found...

BUSH: The main reason we went into Iraq, at the time, was that we thought they had weapons of mass destruction. Turns out, he didn't...

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Was there a connection between Iraq and 9/11? Any connection?

SANTORUM: All, all, I, I, I don't think we know that...

[Bush at press conference]

BUSH: [to reporter] What did Iraq have to do with what?

REPORTER: The attack on the World Trade Center.

BUSH: Nothing!

Santorum's behind in polling right now. You'd think someone from his campaign would take that shovel away from him -- he's digging himself in pretty deep.
