Officially the Worst Place in the World

Human Resource Consultants Mercer released its annual study of quality of life sunday, measuring the best and worst quality of life in the world by city.

"LONDON (Reuters) - Zurich is the city with the highest quality of life in 2006, while Baghdad, for the third year running, has the lowest, a survey published on Monday shows."
I know, no big surprises there. But consider this:

"America is a friend to the people of Iraq. Our demands are directed only at the regime that enslaves them and threatens us. When these demands are met, the first and greatest benefit will come to Iraqi men, women and children."
--G.W. Bush
It ain't quite panning out that way, is it? The reasons for the war kept shifting, depending on which line of BS was recently shot down. We went because Hussein had WMD, then we went because he supported terrorism, we went because he wasn't complying with inspectors, He had WMD, it was terrorism... lather, rinse, repeat.

But the question war supporters always came back to was, "Do you think the iraqi people were better off under a brutal dictator?"

Unfortunately, for three years running, the answer to that question is, "Yes."
